Biography
 

Renée Long is a junior Violin Performance major from Selinsgrove, PA who studies at Baldwin Wallace University. She is expected to graduate in May 2025 with her Bachelor of Music degree. She is currently studying under Dr. Steve Sang Koh and has previously studied with Katherine Bormann of the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra, Dr. Julian Ross, Dr. James Lyon, and Dr. Jennifer Sacher Wiley. Long has played violin with the Susquehanna University Orchestra, the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, the Susquehanna Valley Chorale, and the Harrisburg Choral Society. 

 

Long won the 2022-2023 Lauria Concerto Competition at Baldwin Wallace University and performed the Barber Violin Concerto with the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra in October 2023. She has been teaching private violin and viola lessons for four years, privately and with the Strongsville Academy of Music. She enjoys collaborating with others in all areas of music, including chamber music and musical pit orchestras.

 

Long enjoys playing all different styles of music, and has performed in the styles of classical, jazz, contemporary, and musical theater. Outside of playing the violin, Long enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
